It seems these days the art world is a buzz with miniature golf. Our first article on the subject focused on attempt to install a course in Trafalgar Square (unfortunately the Kickstarter did not get funded). However, there a lots of less ambitious projects popping up in and out of museums. It's great to see the sport highlighted in such creative ways.

The first link below comes from Nashville, TN, USA where the local baseball team (Nashville Sounds) provided space at their ballpark for a nine hole installation. They partnered with local arts and business councils to have a local artist design each of the nine holes. The video in the linked article provides a nice overview of some of the holes (although the manager did use "Putt Putt" in an incorrect context!). This course has additional benefits beyond arts as well, as the partnership with another hugely popular sport in the US (baseball) helps to keep miniature golf in front of the eyes of many, even if their core base (families) does have a lot of overlap.

The second link is straight out of Los Angeles and focuses on architects creating the holes. The article rightly discusses how these structural intellectuals are often left out of the "arts" discussion but you can see by the design of their holes that they can truly create art and are thinking of things many of us would never dream of putting on or through! Unfortunately, like many of these types of courses it is limited run only and wraps up this summer. Even worse, before we had a chance to post this article the course had been vandalized (see 3rd link), which is an unfortunate occurrence.
