Hans Verkooijen & Roel Groenhuijsen dominating Dutch Championships
Result table at the men category after 8 rounds  (Photo by Bangolf Arena 2010)

Due to the late date and other big tournaments played in this and previous weekends this years Dutch Beton Championships was not the most visited tournament in the year. Only 29 players came to Geldrop and Spoordonk to compete for the medals.

The differences on the first day at the 'standard' beton course in Geldrop were not that big. On the second day this changed completely when the players went to Spoordonk to play on the Dutch system course with a top layer made of rubber material.

Homeplaying Hans Verkooijen won the gold in the mens category with a 4 shot gap to silver medalist Chris Campfens. Hans needed 320 shots. European Senior Champion of 2006, Henk Goris won the bronze with a total score of 329

A slightly better score was scored in the men senior class. Here it was Roel Groenhuijsen dominating with an even bigger gap: 307 to 328 for Mees Bouman and home player Jan van Gisbergen.

The womens category missed all the Dutch team players. Scores were therefor a little bit higher then usuall and at the end the golden medal and Dutch title went to Marianne Groenendijk with 338.

In the women senior class it was an interesting fight with changing leaders almost every round. At the end it was Elly Mulder who took the gold with a score of 369, just 5 shots ahead of Petra Tenge and 8 ahead of Jo van Elderen.
