Turun Ratagolfseura won the final match 137 (34.25) - 138 (34.50) against Sibelius Park MGK at Finnish team championships 2011 at the felt course of Lahti in south-eastern Finland.

Sibelius Park MGK was sovereignly the best team in the preliminary rounds, with team average 32.64 in the first 7 rounds, compared to average 34.11 by TuRGS, 34.89 by Manse RG and 35.39 by Minigolf-Aces.

The tournament was based on matches between teams, however, not on cumulative total score. The four most successful teams after the 7 preliminary round matches continued to play semi-final matches, and then a final match and a bronze match.

Sibelius Park MGK did not play their best game in the final match, and the young anchor player of Turun RGS, Miko Tuominen, arrived to the last lane with his team leading by two points. He missed the first shot at shoot-in, the traditional last lane of felt courses, but slammed in the second shot to secure victory to his team by a one-point margin.

Taivallahden RGS won the bronze match against Minigolf-Aces 143 (35.75) - 146 (36.50). MG-Aces was 3 points in the lead before the last lane, but their anchor player Pyry Väre took full 7 points at the shoot-in, which meant a good-bye to their medal hopes.

Minigolf-Aces suffered also other losses during the weekend, as their club member Tuomas Hautaoja, 29 years of age, died of unexpected and sudden medical reasons in another town on the same weekend, while on stage of a music concert. Tuomas played in the MG-Aces team last year when they took silver medals at Finnish felt championships. He also represented Finland at WMF / EMF Junior Championships in Lamego 2000 and Praha 2001.

Best individual players of the weekend:

1.   avg 30.56   Aki Sillman (SibMGK)
2.   avg 32.00   Tommi Lantta (TaRGS)
3.   avg 32.11   Marko Nuotio (SibMGK)
4.   avg 32.67   Juha Wellenius (TuRGS)
5:   avg 33.00   Teo Tuomola (SibMGK)
5:   avg 33.00   Jussi Heino (MG-Aces)
