Jasper and Klarenbeek Dutch Champions

Last weekend the Dutch championships were played at the courses of Geldrop, where in 2006 the European champioships were held. The players had to play two days and each day 5 rounds.

After the First day was Alex Jasper (Dormagen-Brechten) leading in the mens class with 115 strokes before René Bos (Oirschot) with 120 strokes and Ruud Slappendel (Zoetermeer) with 123 strokes. During the second day Alex Jasper made his gap with the other players each round some bigger and after the ten rounds he was the new Dutch champion with 237 strokes. The silver medal was for René Bos with 252 strokes and the bronze medal was for Ruud Slappendel with 257 strokes.

In the ladies class was Natasja Klarenbeek (Leeuwarden) by far the best player. She lead after the First day with 119 strokes before her clubmate Annie Jasper with 126 strokes. During the second day made Natasja Klarenbeek her gap with the others much bigger and after ten rounds she was again the Dutch champion with 248 strokes. The silver medal was hgere for Annie Jasper (Leeuwarden) with 267 strokes and the bronze medal was for Wendy van Luypen (Hole Ridders) with 268 strokes.

The title by the men seniores was for Mees Bouwman (De Putters) with 263 strokes before Tiny Klarenbeek (Geldrop) with 276 and Hans v/d Aa (Geldrop) with 278 strokes.

The title by the ladies seniors was foor Petra Tenge (Leeuwarden) with 291 strokes. Silver was for Elly Mulder (Leeuwarden) with 308 strokes and bronze was for Alie Visser (Duno) with 317 strokes.

After the Dutch championships the Dutch team for the World Championships in Stockholm was nominated by the headcoach Peter Joost Middag. In the team there were some surprises:

Men:
Alex Jasper (Dormagen-Brechten)
Erik Tiekstra (Tantogårdens BGK)
René Bos (Oirschot)
Ruud Slappendel (Zoetermeer), played his last championship in 2006
Steven Steiger (Oirschot)
Zeno Folkertsma (Appelscha)
Martin Mulder (Vrije Slag), played his last championship in 1996

Ladies:
Natasja Klarenbeek (Leeuwarden)
Annie Jasper (Leeuwarden)
Ilona de Kok (Oirschot)
Anja Derks (Vrije Slag), she will make her debut
