Today the new SportAccord president Mr Marius L. Vizer announced officially that Minigolf is one of the initially 23 sports to be included in the first ever World Beach Games in 2015. Exact dates and locations are not finalized yet and will be reviled in July 2014.

The plan is that there will be a multi-sport event in one location all related to beach or summer activities. Not all sport will be executed on the beach and for Minigolf this means a specially built course somewhere near the main beach area. It’s also very likely that this event will take place in wintertime (north hemisphere) not to collide with other big events in these sports.

The sports selected are: American Football, Aquatics, Boules, Canoe, Cheerleading, Dragon Boat, Flying Disc, Football, Handball, Life Saving, Minigolf, Motorcycle, Powerboat, Rowing, Rugby, Sailing, Sport Fishing, Sub-Aquatics, Surfing, Tennis, Triathlon, Volleyball, and Waterski/Wakeboard, as well as a few other sports that expressed interest.

How many minigolfers will be invited and other practicalities will be presented as more details are decided.
