World Adventure Golf Masters and World Deaf Championships to be Played

Nin, Croatia – On September 11 and 12, 2017, the World Adventure Golf Masters 2017 (WAGM) and the World Deaf Championships (WDC) will be held at Zaton Holiday Resort. Both tournaments are sponsored by the World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) and are two of the three largest events on the WMF calendar.

The WAGM is the largest international tournament to be played on the Minigolf Open Standard (MOS) style course. There are 104 participants in the various classes, representing 18 different countries including countries from Asia, Australia, North America, Africa and Europe. Players had two official practice days on September 9 and 10 as they prepared for the stroke-play competition. The competition will comprise of both individual and team events, both with 6 qualifying round and a finals rounds for the best individuals/teams to determine the champions.

Tournament Director Pasi Aho had this to say about the WAGM, “I am excited to get started after long preparations in the fabulous location of Zaton Holliday Resort. The course is in great condition and I am especially proud to see so many new nations competing.”

The WDC will be played on the miniaturegolf style course and will feature 32 players from 5 countries. These players also had official practice days on September 9 and 10. The WDC will be the first ever World Championship for minigolfers with disabilities and is organized by an organisation team of WMF, in close cooperation with Zaton Holiday Resort and the Croatian Minigolf Federation.

The tournament director had this to say about the first WDC. “The World Minigolf Sport Federation is delighted to be welcoming deaf players to the inaugural World Deaf Championships 2017 held in the fabulous location of Zaton Holliday Resort. The course is in great condition and I am looking forward to a great two days competition.”

More information about both tournaments can be found on the official tournament pages below and there will be extensive social media coverage on all of the WMF outlets mentioned below. Later in the month, from September 20 to 23, 2017, the 2017 edition of the World Championships (general class) will also be held at Zaton Holiday Resort. There are now 25 countries confirmed with a total of 179 participants. The tournament page for the World Championships has been included below as well.

The World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) is the umbrella organization of 63 Minigolf sports associations worldwide with Continental Associations in Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Over 1,000 championships courses are approved for official competitions and over 1,500 international minigolf tournaments are held each year. Millions of players all around the world like to play minigolf as a private leisure activity and in public competitions.
