Changes on the leader board in Austria

Austria 07 May 2013 at 15:45 | Published by: Wagi | Views: 9431 | News search

Changes on the leader board in Austria This weekend the Austrian top players met in 21st district of Vienna, playing 3rd day of the National League. The new eternit course, home place of BGC Wien, is situated in Angelibad since only one year and it was the first big competition held there.

5 matches, 5 victories and the new leader in overall! These are the facts for W.A.T.21! In an impressive way the defending champion dominated this weekend and showed everyone that they still are first candidate for the title in 2013. With an team average of 20,8 over 5 rounds (including all 7 players) no other team could compete.

Former leader MSC Steyr has first to manage a surprisingly defeat against Gänserndorf and then, in the last battle of the day, they lost their leading position being beaten from W.A.T. 21 by 128139. On 3rd place again the upcoming team of Bischofshofen (6 points), followed by the home team of BGC Wien and Gänserndorf (4 points each). No points this weekend for the youth team.

The new modus seems not to be the best friend of Gänserndorf! Once more with the second best score of all teams…but only finished on 4th place. Nevertheless they can be proud of having played the best team round of the day with 119 strikes and an average of 19,83!

Final results Day 3:

1. W.A.T.21, 10 points / 625 strokes
2. Steyr, 6 / 662
3. Bischofshofen, 6 / 678
4. Gänserndorf, 4 / 649
5. BGC Wien, 4 / 655
6. ÖBGV Jugendteam, 0 / 769

Overall standings:

1. W.A.T.21, 25 / 2189
2. Steyr, 24 / 2171
3. Bischofshofen, 15 / 2297
4. BGC Wien , 13 / 2321
5. Gänserndorf, 11 / 2239
6. ÖBGV Jugendteam, 2 / 2576

Best individual players men (5 rounds):

1. Andreas Lackner, Bischofshofen, 99 (19,8)
2. Heinz Weber, W.A.T. 21, 100 (20,0)
3. Stefan Mehlhose, W.A.T. 21, 101 (20,2)
4. Egon Stingl, Gänserndorf, 101 (20,2)
5. Reinhard Schuster, Bischofshofen, 103 (20,6)

6 matches, 5 victories and the new leader in overall! These are the facts for Union Rotgold! The ladies competition ended almost the same way like the men category did. The team of the weekend was the one of Rotgold by gaining 10 out of 12 points. Especially the 2 victories against the only remaining title rival Bad Vöslau / Gänserndorf made the Rotgold ladies being the great winner.

They lost only once against Linz Lissfeld, which ended the competition in second position. With Elisabeth Kammerer and Karin Heschl, Rotgold had the best two single players in their team. Kammerer herself dominated the category by a sensational average of 20,83 and with the score of 18 strikes in round 4 she set the only blue round of all ladies.

Bad Vöslau / Gänserndorf couldn´t show their skills this weekend, lost also both battles against the ladies from Linz Lissfeld and reached only 4 points this weekend which made them losing the leading position in overall. Innsbruck Igls with 2 points ended again in 4th and last position.

Final results Day 3:

1. BGCU Rot Gold 10 points / 407 strokes
2. ASKÖ 3D MSC Linz Lissfeld 8 / 428
3. Bad Vöslau-Gänserndorf 4 / 435
4. MGC Innsbruck/Igls 2 / 509

Overall standings:

1. BGCU Rot Gold 27 / 1393
2. Bad Vöslau-Gänserndorf 23 / 1399
3. ASKÖ 3D MSC Linz Lissfeld 16 / 1485
4. MGC Innsbruck/Igls 6 / 1635

Best individual players ladies (6 rounds):

1. Elisabeth Kammerer, Rotgold, 125 (20,83)
2. Karin Heschl, Rotgold, 133 (22,16)
3. Manuela Zojer, Linz Lissfeld, 133 (22,16)
4. Elisabeth Gruber, Vöslau/Gäns, 137 (22,83)
5. Martina Danner, Linz Lissfeld, 137 (22,83)

The next (and last) day in Austrian Bundesliga will be played on 31 May / 1 June at the felt course in Telfs (Tyrol).
