Loads of blue scores in Munktell Arenan

Sweden 11 Jan 2009 at 16:10 | Published by: Tiek | Views: 9810 | News search

Loads of blue scores in Munktell Arenan Today the third round of the Top-12 tournaments at the eternite course in Munktell Arenan (Eskilstuna, Sweden) has been played.

An incredible amount of 5 players in the A category played a blue average of under 20. It were Lars Brown and Karin Wiklund who left with the win with an average of 19.00 in 4 rounds. Lars Brown, member of Uppsala BGK (and former member of Eskilstuna's BGK Spiik) is practicly unbeatable at the easy eternite courses in the old factory hall.

Behind Lars and Karin, with a difference of only 1 stroke, it was Patrik Wass from Haga BGK and Peter Eisenschmidt of BGK Jönköping who took the bronze. Last player with an average under 20 was S-I Mellkvist of Skönsbergs SK.

Interesting result came also from Björn Carrö of Södertälje BGK. Björn started with a round of 25 but ended with 22-18-18. Thereby getting an average of 20.80 which was good for the 7th place.

Also in the B and C categories there were some interesting averages to be found. Mats Walling of Fröslunda BGK won the C category with an average of 21.50. In the same category Anders Pettersson (Haga BGK) came in 2nd with an average score of 22.33. The same score was played by the winner of the B category, Kerry Andersson of Djulö BGK

Much easier yes but also very well played. It is not even fun to participate any longer(for an average Class A player as me).... maybe time for some changes to the course? It seems to get a little bit too "automatic".

Maybe Peppe spends the rest of the year practising for that one event. Worked pretty well until now...

Hehe, Well, Peter still doesn't play that much (only 1 tournament each year?). It can't be going well everytime without too much practise. :)

@ erik
Maybe we can see 2 couples with blue avarage this marathon? Still think Lars & Peter will win (19,9 and 19,8 2 last marathons), but maybe they dont do it so easy this time :P

Im not suprised the class A players do so good, but really nice to see that the B/C class can do some low too. 21.5 for Mats Wallin the winner in C class is also really good!

True true....
We'll see what happens there in the next tournaments. I haven't seen that many players play so low at the same time. What scores to be expected during the 24h Marathon?

Course a bit easier than in Olofström though :)
