Another Team-Golf victory for Vitus Spescha

Switzerland 09 Feb 2009 at 12:34 | Published by:  | Views: 10649 | News search

Another Team-Golf victory for Vitus Spescha Another Team-Golf tournament has been played in Switzerland during last weekend.
And that was another chance for Vitus Spescha (MC Mühlematt) to take another victory, this time in pair with Hans Aebersold (MC Effretikon).

The tournament was played on Sirnach eternite indoor course. It was a 12-hours tournament that started at 10 am on Saturday 7 February
9 complete rounds were played by the 37 pairs starting in this tournament and coming from Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein and Italy.

The victory was awarded to Vitus Spescha / Hans Aebersold, that completed the 9 rounds with a total score of 169 strokes (18.78 average), with 4x 18, 4x 19, and only 1x 21.
They took the victory after a playoff with the pair Reto Sommer / Bruno Ruch (both from MC Burgdorf) at lane 2 (salto) where Vitus scored an 'ace' while Reto did not.
Reto and Bruno scored 4x 18, 2x 19, 2x 20.

Third place went to the winners of the last edition, Michel Rhyn / Cedric Mathys (both from MC Olten), who scored a total of 172 strokes (19.11 average) with only 1x 18 but 6x 19 and 1x 20.

4th place to Mike Mann (BGS Hardenberg) / Tamara Blaser (MC Olten) with 173 strokes (19.22 average and 3x 18, 3x 19, 1x 20, 2x 21)

Three pair were tied at 5th place with 174 strokes (19.33 average):
- Jaqueline Arlitt / Eveline Kähr (both from MC Grindel Klotem)
- Rainer Buettiker (MC Neuendorf) / Herrman Stenz (MC Wetzikon)
- Paolo Porta (MGC Novi Ligure) / Rudi Giroldini (GSP Vergiate)

The italian national team took part to this tournament as a preparation meeting for next international events: another italian pair got a top 10 place with Stefano Piccini (MT Amatese) / Cristian Pinton (MC Monza) with 175 strokes (19.44 average). Quite good news for the italian national team is the fact that the best individual average was setted by the Italian youth champion Lorenzo Ciompi (ASMC Follonica), at his first experience with the elite team.

The Team-Golf tournament modus is really interesting because make every shot decisive, expecially when you play as "subsitute" player and have to repair the mistake of the main player. Tournament was really close with at least 7-8 pairs that could take the final victory.
