Rainy weekend at JLP 2009

Germany 19 Apr 2009 at 09:01 | Published by: JJM | Views: 7333 | News search

Rainy weekend at JLP 2009 Jugendländerpokal 2009 was played in rainy weather, yet without any rain interruptions in competition, at the eternite course of Dudweiler / Homburg in Germany.

The extremely tight team competition was conquered by Nordrhein Westfalen (the silver team of last year’s JLP), with total average 22.23. Only three points behind the winner came the teams of Hessen and Baden, with tied score. Hessen took the silver medals, after a sudden death play-off.

Last year’s winner Saarland fell to the other end of results list this year, and was ranked last of all 8 teams in the competition. The bronze team of 2008 Rheinland Pfalz fell to second-last place this year, ranked 7th in team competition. (The playing system was eternite in 2009, but eternite + beton combi in 2008.)

The best players in juniors category were Thorsten Breitbach and Franz Höfler (both with average score 20.86), followed by Robin Hettrich and Philipp Lewin (both 21.00).

The best female juniors were Anne Bollrich (22.29), Melanie Hammerschmidt and Anke Willenbockel (both 23.43).

The best players in schoolboys under 15 years were Thomas Sieber (21.86), Marcel Waleska (22.00) and Max Barbarino (22.43).

The best players in schoolgirls under 15 years were Vanessa Peuker (22.71), Anna Nitschke (23.00) and Katharina Benn (23.57).
