Huub Bottenberg wins annual Aly Mesken Memorial

Netherlands 03 May 2009 at 10:00 | Published by: Santa | Views: 4724 | News search

Huub Bottenberg wins annual Aly Mesken Memorial On the Dutch Queensday (30 april) MGC Appelscha organised their traditional Aly Mesken Memorial. It is played on the feltcourse and this year a great list of participants (74).

The big winner in de mens category was Huub Bottenberg from the homeclub with a total score of 116 strokes after 29-29-28-30. Second became Alex Jasper (MGC Dormagen-Brechten) after 30-30-30-31=121 strokes just before André van Vliet (MGC Bilthoven).

In the ladies category Christina Fennema (Appelscha) took the gold with 125 strokes before Ilona de Kok (Geldrop) with 135 and Annie Jasper (Leeuwarden) with 140 strokes.

Men seniors winner of this year was Wilbert van Helmond (MGV Duno) 128 strokes, just before Jan Jager (Appelscha) 130 strokes. Ladies seniors winner was Antje Hof (Appelscha) 138 strokes.
The best round was played bij ladies senior Petra Tenge (Leeuwarden) with 27 strokes. While normally the Queensday is a very big National day in the Netherlands, this time it was a little overshadowed by the crazy attack on the royal family in Apeldoorn with the death op 6 spectators.
