Biesma and Newport score under the magic 24.00 limit

United States of America 26 May 2009 at 21:32 | Published by: JJM | Views: 6570 | News search

Biesma and Newport score under the magic 24.00 limit Dennis Biesma and Greg Newport scored uncommonly low averages 23.67 at a Putt-Putt tournament in Richmond, Virginia, on 15 May 2009. Biesma and Newport then continued with a play-off over 18 holes (as is customary in golf and Putt-Putt), where Biesma proved better and took the winner’s title.

Players in tied third place were not much worse, as Brad Lebo and Manfred Stewart scored averages 24.00, only one point behind Biesma and Newport.

Putt-Putt is played with a golf ball on traditional American felt courses, whose width is 120 cm and length typically somewhere around 9 m.

Yes, Biesma and Newpie played great at Richmond. But their average of 23.67 was equalled over 12 rounds by Kevin Lacey while winning the 2008 PPA National Championship at the same location. In the 2004 PPA National Championship, also held in Richmond, Virginia, Cliff Matthews fired a 281 over 12 rounds- less than a 23.42 average. Sweeden's Olofsson shot 285 to finish third.
