This time it was a concrete session (5. league round) held in the eastern part of Slovakia, city Košice, where European youth championship took place in 1999. Based on results from previous 5 years almost everybody could consider ADARA Trnava (4 victories) and obviously domestic team GK Bankov Košice (1 victory) to be the biggest rivals to fight for victory. And the course of the tournament confirmed that argument.
ADARA Trnava brought determined and highly motivated squad with names known from national team, so the triumph with 51 strokes margin (avg 30.88) at the end of the day has not really been a big surprise. Constant performance and strong desire to be the best paid off for them. Second spot belongs to young team of GK Bankov Košice consisting of three juniors (32.92) and third to defending league champion 1. MTGC Prievidza (33.40). With this victory ADARA Trnava have obtained a comfortable lead in overall ranking (27.5 pts) before guys from GK Bratislava (23) and 1. MTGC Prievidza (22.5).
Among individuals the best player appeared to be Michal Putnoky, ADARA Trnava (29.83), who was the only one able to beat the 30.0 benchmark in average. There was a big fight for overall second place between Marcel Korinek, GK Bratislava (30.33) and domestic black horse Rasto Kovac, MGCC Classic Košice (30.33), which was decided in dramatic sudden death match on fifth lane to the benefit of Marcel Korinek. Marcel also became a holder of special trophy called “castle master”, which had been prepared for the player with fewest strokes on lanes 4 and 15 (big and small castle). He managed to score only 15 in 6 rounds (3 mistakes). Good job! Next round will be played on beautiful felt course located in Prievidza. » results » photos
