Day 1 of Juniors European Championships

Gerrit Britz and Jana Nakládalová took the lead after day 1 of Juniors European Championships in Waldshut, Germany.

World ranking no. 1 in female juniors, Jana Nakládalová of Czech Republic, played three rounds 21 26 20 (E + B + E), taking a 5 points lead to the second best female juniors Anna Nitschke and Jasmin Ehm of Germany.

Gerrit Britz of Germany took the lead in male juniors, with three rounds 26 20 26 (B + E + B). Andreas Schneider of Germany is second, 4 points behind Britz, and 1 point further the third place is tied between Christoph Schatzer (Austria), Roger Wicki (Switzerland) and Sebastian Peffer (Germany).

In team competition of male juniors, Germany took a clear lead of 18 points ahead of Sweden and Switzerland in tied points. Also Austria is fighting for the brightest medals, 2 points behind Sweden and Switzerland. Italy is within potential attacking distance, 8 points behind Austria.

In female juniors all five teams are within close range from each other, and nothing has been decided yet. The traditionally strong Czech Republic took the lead, Germany is second 6 points behind Czech Republic, and Austria is third 5 points behind Germany. Sweden is fourth 3 points behind Austria, and Switzerland is fifth 5 points behind Sweden.
