Allan Schwab saves the home nations hope

Denmark 21 Aug 2009 at 21:39 | Published by: Hans | Views: 9973 | News search

Allan Schwab saves the home nations hope The last places for Saturdays KO-finals in the men’s class had to be decided by a sudden death.

Erik Tiekstra, the Netherlands, Christian Freilash, Austria and Allan Schwab all had the same result in places 31-33 after the preliminary rounds. A sudden death had to be played. Allan started by making a nervous 3 on lane on (the pipe). In this stage he must have thought he was out. Second player was Erik who also made a nervous 3 on the pipe. Lastly Christian made an ace and was in that stage in the KO-finals.

Erik and Allan had to continue the sudden death at lane two. Erik made a 3 also here and it was a golden opportunity for Allan. But his stroke touched the last pin and was barely free for a put. The put he made and with a load cheer he made it to the finals, and still the home nation has hope for a World Champion.

In the ladies class Inger Neye is also left for the home nation in the final 16. Inger will meet Swedens Sandra Weaver and Allan will meet mens number one CJ Ryner.
