
Marcus Johansson won the Cup Stockholm final

This weekend the Cup Stockholm final was played in Södertälje on the felt course. Cup Stockholm is a tour of competitions played in the Stockholm area, and has 2009 been 8 qualifying competitions plus the final. The final started with two qualifying rounds for all classes (A, B, C and D). The best four in each class was qualified for semi-finals. The best from the qualification rounds meet number 4 and 2 and 3 meet in match play with lane wins.
The 3 favourites in the A-class was Anders Olsson, Karin Wiklund, both Uppsala, and home player Marcus Johansson and those 3 was among the 4 qualifiers together with home player Thomas Öberg. The two home players meet in one of the semi-finals and there Marcus won a comfortable win. In the other Karin won over her partner Anders after a though and existing game ending in a sudden death.
Thomas and Anders meet in the match for third price and Thomas won this match after sudden death. In the finals Marcus took the lead in the beginning with 4-1 but Karin fought back and after 18 lanes the match result was 6-6. Also this match ended in a sudden death and after 11 lanes Marcus could be appointed as winner.

C-class: The young winner Kenneth Lindell, Haninge (14 years old)
B-class: Eva Elstrand, VK78
The class winner played a Solvalla final (chasing game where all play one stroke each and the first to play all 18 lanes win) where Marcus once again was the winner and hence the 2009 years Cup Stockholm Champion.
