The Italian Cup 2009 has been played on Bongni course in Arma di Taggia, a town close to Sanremo on the west coast near France.

Italian Cup is reserved to the regional club champions of the current year, and the following team took part in this edition of the tournament:
- GSP Vergiate (title defender)
- MC Quadrifoglio (Liguria champion, home club)
- ASDMC Follonica (Tuscany champion)
- MGC Novi Ligure (Piedmont champion)
- MC I Basilischi (Lombardy champion)
- SSV Naturns (Südtirol champion)

Also the Lands' Cup 2009 has been played at the same time: the tournament was reserved to 10-players teams representing their own land.

The Italian Cup 2009 has been won by ASDMC Follonica after a quite close challenge with the other participating teams.
After the first round, MGC Novi Ligure was leading with 118 strokes, two better than the title defender GSP Vergiate, and 7 better than ASDMC Follonica and the home team MC Quadrifoglio.
After the second round, MGC Novi Ligure mantains the lead with a total of 242 strokes, but something changes for the other places: ASDMC Follonica takes 2nd place just two strokes behind the leader, and MC Quadrifoglio takes 3rd place also two strokes behind Follonica. Not a good round for GSP Vergiate which was now in 4th place, 7 strokes behind the leaders.
On the last round ASDMC Follonica setted a very good score which was unbeatable for all the other teams: thanks to the "green" result of the three youngster Lorenzo Ciompi ( 25 ), Lorenzo Bellucci ( 28 ) and Nicola Bellucci ( 28 ) Follonica took the victory with 6 strokes margin on MGC Novi Ligure and 10 strokes on MC Quadrifoglio which got 3rd place.

This is the final ranking of Italian Cup 2009:

1. ASDMC Follonica 359 strokes (29.92 avg)
Lorenzo Bellucci, Vincenzo Zeno, Lorenzo Ciompi, Nicola Bellucci
2. MGC Novi Ligure 365 strokes (30.42 avg)

3. MC Quadrifoglio 369 strokes (30.75 avg)
Edmondo Franceschini, Franco Minutolo, Antonio Merlenghi, Giuseppe Corradi, Diego Bonacini (S)
4. GSP Vergiate 371 strokes (30.92 avg)
