United States of America 11 May 2010 at 08:43 | Published by: Blondie | Views: 6917 | News search

Lebo wins US Open 2010 USPMGA US Open was originally planned for Mt. Pleasant, SC but management change and tournament cancellation in Mt. Pleasant forced USPMGA to move event to Hawaiian Village course in North Myrtle Beach.

Short amount of time to get ready resulted in decreased cash purse too. Despite the unexpected situations, tournament went on smoothly and had 36 participants in Open, Seniors, Women's and Amateur divisions.

The tournament first round was finished with a tied course record of 29 for Pineapple beach set by Bob Haizlip but unfortunately Bob finished 11th after 8 rounds. After three rounds Brad Lebo took seven point lead over his closest follower.

Brad kept the lead until the end of the tournament although after six rounds Randy Orr, Gary Hester and Jay Klapper decreased Brad's lead to only two point difference.

Top ten Open division players after eight rounds:

Brad Lebo 261 (32.6250
Randy Orr 265 (33.125)
Gary Hester 265 (33.125)
Olivia Prokopova 267(33.375)
Randy Reeves 268 (33.5)
Jay Klapper 269 (33.625)
Greg Newport 269 (33.625)
Dennis Biesma 269 (33.625)
Clayton Craft 271(33.875)
Matt McCaslin 271 (33.875)
