Uppsala BGK wins Swedish Cup After an unlucky third place in the preliminary rounds, team 1 of Uppsala BGK won its final cup rounds with great win margins in Swedish Cup 2008, played at the indoor eternite course of Nyköping, Sweden.

Team Uppsala BGK 1 consisted of Anders Olsson, Carl-Johan Ryner, Fredrik Persson, Lars Brown and Jakob Noreland.

Second place in the cup finals was taken by Tantogårdens BGK 1, with the players Tim Hansson, Roy-Ingvar Strandh, Karoline Karlsson, and Erik Tiekstra of Netherlands. Jan Strandberg stayed in the reserve, without playing any competition rounds.

Bronze medals went to Kungälvs BGK, with the team Henrik Arvidsson, Johan Ahlander, Eirik Seljelid, Carl-Johan Spetz and Mattias Ståhl. (Kungälv just recently qualified to make a comeback to Swedish Elitserien for the season 2008, by winning Sweden’s southern Division 1 during the summer season 2007.)

The best player of the weekend was Carl-Johan Ryner of Uppsala BGK 1, with an average score 20.25 after eight competition rounds. The second best player was a rising young star Martin Sjöberg of BGK Jönköping, with an average score 21.00 for five competition rounds.
