On the eternite course of Duno (Doorwerth) the last match of the Dutch league has been played last sunday. Before the match started it was almost impossible that Geldrop would lose the Championship. The only way for Appelscha to win this years Landelijke Hoofdklasse would be to win the last weekend and if Geldrop would end on the last place.

Appelscha started not so good with a round of 100 strokes against Geldrop with 95 strokes. The best round was played by De Putters (Bennekom) with 93 strokes.

During the second round the team of Hole Ridders took over the lead after a very good round of 86 strokes. Geldrop stayed on the second place after a round of 93 strokes. Appelscha tried to get closer, but a round of 94 strokes was not good enough. The third round made an end of the title chances of Appelscha when Geldrop won this round with 88 strokes against Appelscha with 95 strokes. Hole Ridders stayed at the lead after a round of 91 strokes. With a difference of thirteen strokes.

Appelscha tried their best in the last round and won this round with 88 strokes, but that was not enough to win. Hole Ridders ended the weekend with a round of 92 strokes against 94 for Geldrop and won the last match with 365 strokes.

Geldrop became second with 370 strokes just before Appelscha with 377 strokes. With two second places and four first places the Dutch Gold and participation for the European Cup in Vienna went to Geldrop.
