Luca Dellasega wins "Infinite Cup" in Novi Ligure The 6th edition of Int. Trophy "Città di Novi Ligure - INFINITE Cup" has been played on the miniaturegolf course in Novi Ligure last weekend.
This is one of the most prestigious international tournaments in Italy, with an interesting money prizes of EUR 2000,00 total.
This year, 98 players coming from Italy, Germany and Austria took part in the event, which had a really nice day with almost perfect weather, sunny day with 20-24°C and almost no wind at all.

As usual, Novi Ligure course offers some very good results.
In the elite men and overall category the top favourites were surprised by the big performance from the young and promising player from M.C. Predazzo, Luca Dellasega, that won this edition of the Trophy with 80 strokes (20-20-21-19), just one better than Claudio Santopietro (G.S.P. Cusano), which was in the lead after 3 rounds and was also one of the favourites for the final victory, having ranked 2nd in three of the previous 5 editions of the tournament.
Also this year Claudio has to accept the silver medal place, with a total of 81 strokes (22-19-19-21).
In 3rd place we find another top favourite, the home player Paolo Porta (M.G.C. Novi Ligure), winner of the previous 3 editions of the tournament, that scored a total of 85 strokes (22-19-23-21).
After the top three, we find 8 players between 87 and 88 strokes, showing the high level of this tournament.

The ladies event was won for the 2nd year in a row by Anna Bandera (G.S.P. Cusano) with a total of 91 strokes. After a difficult start (25-25), Anna came back on her level with two good rounds (20-21), taking a safe victory on the new Senior European Champion Antonella Flamini that this time could get no better than 2nd with 94 strokes.

The senior male event was won by Pierluigi Marchiani (G.S.P. Cusano) for the 5th consecutive year), with a total score of 87 strokes (24-20-21-22).
The other categories were won by:
- Annalisa Aghito (MC Aponense) in the senior ladies with 95 strokes (24-24-23-24)
- Emanuele Prestinari (GSP Cusano) in the schoolboys category with 92 strokes
- Valentina D'Amico (MGC Novi Ligure) in the youth category with 118 strokes

The team event was won for the 2nd consecutive year by G.S.P. Cusano. The team formed by Claudio Santopietro, Pierluigi Marchiani, Anna Bandera and Emanuele Prestinari had a very close fight with M.C. Basilischi Milano and got the victory only on lane 16 of the last team round by just one stroke. 261 total strokes for Cusano, 262 for Basilischi Milano team formed by Luca Picciali, Carlo Consonni, Roberto Luerti and Antonio Dibernardi. In bronze medal position the home team from Novi Ligure (Paolo Porta, Piero Porta, Massimo Pavanello, Maurizio Fermi which didn't have the best day of his life but could at least save the podium by just 1 stroke on MC Follonica with 277 strokes.

The best foreing player of the tournament had been the senior Manfred Schöller (BAC Baden, Austria), with a total of 94 strokes. No 18-rounds have been played during this tournament, which is quite strange for Novi Ligure course. We had a total of 6x 19 rounds made by Luca Dellasega, Claudio Santopietro (x2), Paolo Porta, Massimo Pavanello and Nicola Bellucci.
