Today was the starting day for the 2010-11 German Bundesliga season. The reigning champions on the men’s side Hardenberg started the day by surprisingly being last on the first round of four. But the experienced team got their act together and by a 150 round in the second round they were back in top. 150 is just one stroke from the current world record for club teams on Beton held by Uppsala.
After two rounds it was clear that the win this weekend would be a battle between Hardenberg and Mainz. All the way into the final lanes it was a real battle. But the Hardenberg closer Harald Erlbruch could keep his Mainz opponent Roman Kobisch behind him and secure a 3 stroke win.
In third place MGC Dormagen-Brechten is found after having won with only one stroke over the home club and this year’s newcomer Bochum.
Best individually was the Mainz substitute Sasha Spreier with 101 stokes.
In the ladies Bundesliga the Mainz girls was the stronger team this time. Their main rivals and reigning Champions, Göttingen was left on second place this time. Main was lead by Alice Kobish that was best of all the ladies today with 105 strokes. In Göttingen the two national team stars Bianca Oberweg and Nicole Piechotta didn’t quite find their normal game level today and was outranked with margin by their team mate Alexandra von dem Knesebeck. Knesebeck ended the day by the lowest score of all by scoring a 22.
