Last sunday the Dutch minigolf players started the new season under artic conditions, it was very cold and a lot of wind from the east. Despite the bad weather conditions some players scored good results. For the first time since the start of the Dutch league the teams played with seven players and the best six scores counted for the team. This year there are only six teams in the Dutch league.

The coach of the defending champion Oirschot 1, Peter Joost Middag, had to build a whole new team because Natasja Klarenbeek and Rene Bos changed club in the wintertime from Oirschot to De Vrije Slag (Wageningen). But he succeded to build a good new team with three players from the old second team.

The start of Oirschot 1 was not so good with a total of 211 strokes and a fith place. In the lead was the team of the Hole Ridders (Ridderkerk) with 197 strokes before Zoetermeer with 204 strokes and Appelscha with 206 strokes together with Oirschot 2.

During the second round the players of Oirschot sterted to play a lot better and now they came to a score of 192 strokes and they climed to the third place two strokes after the now leading team of Zoetermeer after a score of 197 srokes. The Hole Ridders became now on the second place after a round of 205 strokes.

The thrid round was for Oirschot 1 even better than the second round and now they finished with 191 strokes and they toke the lead. Zoetermeer lost the lead by finishing with a very high score of 216 strokes and they went down to place six. On the second place came now Appelscha after a round of 205 strokes together with the Hole Ridders after a round of 207 strokes.

With a very comfortable difference with the other teams Oirschot 1 started the last round with 15 strokes ahead. They played the last round not so good but a finishing score of 202 was enough to win the first match before Appelscha. This team tried to make it Oirschot 1 very difficult but a score of 195 was not enough for the win. On the third place came surprisingly Oirschot 2 after a very good last round with 193 strokes just before the Hole Ridders.

Best player this day was Remon Verveer (Hole Ridders) with 121 strokes before Rick Peeters (Oirschot 2) with 123 strokes and Richard Zwarts (Appelscha) 125 strokes.
