Let's face it - most of us don't like dragging ourselves to work everyday. It's a necessary evil to make the world go round. However, just like with so many other things in life, minigolf is there sometimes to help save us from the boredom!

A common place to see minigolf (or at least putting) in a larger company is as a marketing gimmick or prize generator at a conference or training session. However, some companies have found that miniature golf is also a great way to get their employees engaged, working as teams and sometimes even as another way to raise charitable funds.

The first article we have linked is from the Rust-Oleum (paint and coatings company) offices. They had their employees create holes throughout the office and the participation money went to local charities (they raised $2,300 (~2,080 EUR)). It also served as a run-up to their sponsorship of a "big" golf tournament, so the company really knew how to make many ties with this event. The article has some great pictures and video of the event.

The second article features an event from SJE Rhombus' (a liquid control company) employee activities event, which celebrated the employee ownership of the company. While not in the office, this event did put the employees to work together a team to create minigolf holes. With plenty of engineers in their company, and the only requirement being they had to use company duct tape, these employee groups created some fantastic holes. As the article notes, the chair of the committee said "we had no idea how elaborate our team would get" - going to show that when given a chance to be minigolf creative employees are going to succeed!
