MC Olten is the new leaders in the Swiss League

Switzerland 16 May 2011 at 12:09 | Published by: omaggi | Views: 3780 | News search

MC Olten is the new leaders in the Swiss League On Sunday the 8 of Mai the 2nd Day of the Swiss Team competion was played on the concrete-lane in Grenchen.

At the beginning of the day, the weather was not so good, but after that the temperature was about 30 degrees.

After the 1st day of competition the teams that were leading were MC Effretikon for the ladies and MC Eichholz Gerlafingen for the mens.

In this competition the total amount of rounds were 4 and in the ladies competition the MC Olten could reach the totality of the points (8).

The tournament was with a very high level and all the rounds were very closed between the teams.

In the first round MC Olten played 99, MC Neuendorf 100 and MC Effretikon 101. Also in the second and fourth round, the teams of Olten and Effretikon were divided by only a point.

At the end of this day, the leading team of MC Olten (Melanie Blaser, Flavia Brechbuehl, Shirley Schüpdach and Tamara Blaser) have 4 points of advantage to the MC Effretikon (Rebecca Weber, Esther Wicki, Sandra Wicki and Maja Wicki).

Also in the male competition the level was very high. After the 1st day of tournament the leading-team was the MC Eichholz Gerlafingen with 14 points of advantage of MC Olten and 16 points of MC Neuendorf and MC Burgdorf.

The first round went to the same direction and so after 5 rounds in total, the advantage of MC Eichholz Gerlafingen was 16 points. In the second round, the MC Olten was the best team with 175 points and so the difference between these 2 clubs was still 14 points.

In the third and fourth round, something completely incredible happened. The victory in the third round went to MC Grenchen and MC Olten with 182 points and MC Eichholz Gerlafingen was only 6th and so reached only 4 points. In this round the difference between the 7 teams was only of 6 points.
The last round of the day was won by MC Neuendorf with 175 points, the MC Olten was second with 177 and MC Eichholz Gerlafingen was last with 193 points.

With these results, at the end of 2nd day, the leading team is MC Olten that have 5 points of advantage before the last 2 days of competition that will be played on the concrete lane in Effretikon the 4/5 June.

The next weekend a tournament called “Stützliturnier” will be played in Effretikon.
