The last but one match of the German Bundesliga took place on the eternit course in the Swabian town Oberkochen on the 25th of May.
Hardenberg started with the best team round of the day (129, ø 21.5). They were leading from the beginning and won the match with 533 (ø 22.2). The other were no more than 3 shots away from each other after the 1st round. Two teams, Niendorf and Mainz, could get away a bit from the others after the 2nd round. With very good rounds of 132 and 131 Niendorf conquered the 2nd place, 8 shots behind Hardenberg. With 551 (ø 23.0) Dormagen-Brechten reached the 3rd place, only 2 shots ahead of Künzell, who obtained their first points this season. Arheilgen again didn't have a good day and ended up on the 5th place, and Mainz on the last place.
Because of a weak Arheilgen team (they got only 2 points) Hardenberg now leads the league table by 11 points and took an early championship one match before the end of the season. The most surprising team of the season is Hamburg-Niendorf who reached a 2nd place in the league table, together with Arheilgen. They just kept the Bundesliga last season, and now they are at least save on a 3rd place at the end, with good prospects for the 2nd place. So the last match in Neutraubling will provide an exciting fight between Niendorf and Arheilgen for the 2nd place. Dormagen-Brechten improved to the 4th place and overtook Mainz. These two teams are only 3 points away and will fight for the 4th place at the last match. The current league table of the men's teams in detail:
1. | BGS Hardenberg | 43 |
2. | SG Arheilgen | 32 |
2. | Niendorfer MC | 32 |
4. | MGC Dormagen-Brechten | 21 |
5. | 1. MGC Mainz | 18 |
6. | MGC putter Künzell | 4 |
The best players of the day were Lars Greiffendorf from Mainz and Dormagen-Brechten's Patrick Bothmann with 83 (ø 20.8). There were only 3 blue rounds of 19, played by Patrick Bothmann, Uwe Ludwig and Florian Wietz. This shows that the course was much more difficult and challenging than that of the last match in Schriesheim.
The women's team were again dominated by Mainz and Göttingen. Bensheim-Auerbach and Cuxhaven could keep up for the first 3 rounds but fell behind in the last round. Göttingen won again with 282 (ø 23.5), 10 shots ahead of Mainz. Bensheim-Auerbach reached the 3rd place with 297 (ø 24.8), followed by Cuxhaven. Schwaikheim/Ludwigshafen ended up on the 5th place and Olching on the last place.
The best female player of the day again was Bianca Zodrow from Göttingen with 87 (ø 21.8).
In the league table Göttingen took the lead only 2 points ahead of Mainz. So the last match will be quite exciting who we will see as the champion. Bensheim-Auerbach and Olching changed places and the teams on the 3rd to the last place are closer together now. So the last match can bring many changes. The current league table of the women's teams:
1. | 1. MGC 1970 Göttingen | 44 |
2. | 1. MGC Mainz | 42 |
3. | SpG Schwaikheim / Ludwigshafen | 19 |
4. | MSC Bensheim-Auerbach | 18 |
5. | MSK Olching | 14 |
6. | MC "Möve" Cuxhaven-Sahlenburg | 13 |
The last match will be on the Concrete course in Neutraubling on the 22nd of June.
