Vergiate, Italy - The World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) together with Federazione Italiana Minigolf and ASD Golf Su Pista Vergiate, would like to invite the youth minigolf players of Europe to the Open Youth European Championships August 8 - 12, 2023.

The invitation for the tournament is now live on the WMF website. Active member registration ends on May 31, 2023. (See link below for invitation).

The 2023 competition will see the following categories competed for: Male & Female individual strokeplay and matchplay, Male and Female national teams strokeplay and mixed pairs strokeplay. Official training will beginning on August 4th with August 9th marking the end of the team competition. Individual strokeplay winners will be determined on August 10th and the mixed pairs strokeplay will be settled on August 11th. The tournament will wrap up on August 12th with the individual matchplay finals. More information about the 2023 tournament can be found on the tournament’s official website.

The Open Youth European Championships is held every two years, opposite the World Championships. The last playing of the tournament was in 2019 due to pandemic restrictions and was held in Latvia. Germany and Sweden held strong across the categories - will they repeat some of their dominance?
"After a successful comeback to live tournaments with the World Championships in Murnau am Staffelsee in Upper Bavaria last year, we move forward to the south side of the Alps for a new and equally exciting event," remarked Maciej Mądrowski, WMF Vice President Youth, "The Championships will be played at the heart of Italian minigolf: on a concrete course in the centre of Vergiate, home of the ASD Golf Su Pista Vergiate and, in fact, home of the Federazione Italiana Minigolf."

If teams are looking for an introduction to the championship course, the Gara Internazionale di Primavera (Spring International Tournament) is organized by ASD Golf Su Pista Vergiate and will be held on April 24th. The invitation for that tournament can be found here and registration is due by April 18th.
