Odense 2009 invitation delayed by budget issues

Publishing of the invitation to World Championships 2009 in Odense has been delayed, because the necessary government funding of the tournament has not received a final approval yet.

WMF estimates that the situation will probably be clear, and the invitation published, by the beginning of March 2009.

If the organizing committee will not receive the state funding as was originally planned, the competition may be moved to some other place in Denmark, or in the worst-case-scenario not be played in Denmark at all.

That's not good news...I hope the situation will be defined as soon as possible. National federations have to organize their journeys, booking flights and so on so I really hope that we have a final answer not later than beginning of March!!
