This years Dutch Concrete Championships were played last weekend in Afferden (normal concrete) and Nijmegen (Dutch system). As expected some local players played well, but surprisingly one of them won the gold and may call himself Dutch Champion 2009. Peter Weijers from Afferden won the gold, after a magnificant first day, with a total score of 305 after 10 rounds.
With 3 shots behind Peter it was European Senior Champion of 2006 Henk Goris who took the silver. He did this with a comfortable lead to the bronze medal, Gerard Verberk with 313 shots.
In the womens category a lot of top-players were missing at this championships. Therefor a dissapointing total of players showed up. Mechelina Berentsen can call herself Dutch Champion 2009 with a total score of 344, just 2 shots before Marga Huisman. Nina Kiewiet came in 3rd place with a total of 387.
Roel Groenhuijsen from Bilthoven won the seniors class with an average of 31,20 beating Wilbert van Helmond after sudden death. Tom Pardaans followed by one shot on the third place. » Results
