The Swedish national Team coaches have announced the 2009 player of the year. In though competition with the other nominated players Jonas Gustavsson, Filiph Svensson and Karin Wiklund she was selected.

During 2009 Sandra had an impressive season with a top at the World Championships in Odense. But she also became Swedish Champion earlier in the summer and was totally best (men and women) in the Elitseriefinal.

The jury (Jans Strandberg, Erik Gustavsson and Stig Pettersson) had the following motivation for their choice (translated from Swedish).

"Sandra has performed a really focused and ambitious effort the last years with a thorough plan of winning an individual World Championship. She has been working with her technical skills and practiced hard and planned her competition agenda with great care. On top of that she has also work with her physical strength and mental strength together with professional advisers.

She won the Swedish Championships, but that was just a part goal aiming of her season goal, to win in Odense. Her victory there was not based on a lucky event it was harvesting the fruit after years and years of hard work.

Congratulation to you Sandra!"
