Justin Seymour Wins Essex County Open

The Essex County Open was held on June 30th at the Essex Golf Center in Roseland, NJ. It was the first running of this tournament and twelve competitors played three rounds in 90 (F) degree (32 C) heat to crown the first winner. The course was not an easy one as mid-to-high 40s were the best most players could muster on that summer day.

Justin Seymour, a USPMGA pro from Connecticut, would be the only competitor who kept all 3 rounds in the 40s and was rewarded with taking the top spot in the tournament and $200. He’d accomplish this feat through a string of deuce on the back nine of the course in the third round, some of the hardest holes on what Justin called a “fun, tough course.” Anna Wallace, Seymour’s girlfriend and also from Connecticut would post the best score of the day, a 42.

Final Scores:
1st. Justin Seymour (CT) - 48-46-47=141
2nd. Jerrod Mutter (NJ) - 49-50-46=145
T-3rd. John Holland (NJ) - 49-52-46=147
T-3rd. Elmer Lawson (PA) - 47-49-51=147
5th. Anna Wallace (CT) - 48-59-42=149
6th. Nicole Sautner (NJ) - 55-52-48=155
7th. Gary Shiff (FL) - 50-53-54=157
8th. Terri Lawson (PA) - 51-54-55=160
9th. Jackson O'Brien (NJ) - 59-45-60=164
10th. Joe Chascsa (NJ) - 58-58-69=185
11th. Laura Knight (NY) - 68-63-64=195
12th. Lisa Ch ascsa (NJ) - 77-67-57=201
