Nate Nichols was the winner by the narrow margin of two strokes after
twelve rounds of miniature golf on the fairways of Ball Fore Miniature Golf, Chicago in the 2012 US Open last weekend.
That was Nate Nichols margin of victory this past weekend over Danny McCaslin to become the 2012 U.S. Open Champion. Averaging 35.67 a round (total score of 428) and never even cracking 40 the whole weekend was enough to propel Nate to the top spot and a prize of $5,000. Danny’s 430 for the weekend was good enough for the second place prize and Olivia Prokpova shot a 433 for third place and the honor of being the top female. Overall 34 people participated in the U.S. Open this year with the top 15 all averaging less than 40 per round. Fifth place Tim Tally fired the best round of the weekend, shooting an opening round 31.
