Team 1 of Tantogårdens BGK took victory in Swedish Cup 2009, the biggest winter tournament in Sweden.
BGK Jönköping lost the final match
93 – 92 to Tanto 1.
Kungälvs BGK landed 3rd in the competition, winning the bronze match
95 – 101
against Tantogårdens BGK 2.
One of the biggest favourites of this tournament (and any tournament that they play nowadays),
Uppsala BGK 1, had to swallow a disappointing 5th place
in the competition, as they lost their quarter final to Tantogården 1 after a tied score
95 – 95
and a sudden death play-off.
In the total score statistics, Uppsala BGK 1 was the best performing team on both competition days,
with a total average 22.54 at the difficult eternite course of
Olofströms BGK. The second strongest team in total statistics was BGK Jönköping
with average score 22.81, and third strongest Sjövikens IF 1
with total average 22.89.
The international recruits of Tantogårdens BGK,
Kosti Salonen (Finland) and Markus Berger (Austria),
survived their first competition with honour.
Salonen was the second best of all players (average
21.44) and Berger
was 18th best (average 23.25)
among the 108 players in the competition.
