Göttingen are the new German Champions in the ladies Bundesliga which ended on Saturday on eternit in Cuxhaven. Hardenberg was already clear winner last weekend but nevertheless showed that they are the best team by also winning the last playing day.

But this weekend was all about the struggle between Göttingen and the last years dominating team Mainz for the women title.

But it wasn’t to be much of a battle. Göttingen, that had the chance to clear the title already last round on felt in Künzell, but then ended in a disappointing 4th place, played a really impressive game. Their game average of 20,5 was impressive actually that no other team could match this average, not even the Hardenbergs on the men’s side.

The Göttingen ladies were number 1-3 in the individual ranking with Bianca Oberweg as top player on 81. Then Alexandra von dem Knesebeck followed on 82 and Nicole Piechotta on 83. This was the first ever team title for the Göttingen team and of course also a great comeback after last playing days bad result.

The Mainz girls was actually also beaten by the home team Cuxhaven and ended up 4 point after the Göttingen team. In third place was Cuxhaven.

Final Table Bundesliga Ladies:

1 MGC Göttingen 1677 40
2 MGC Mainz 1708 36
3 MC Gull Cuxhaven 1789 21
4 MSC Auerbach Bensheim 1813 14
5 MSK Olching 1839 9

On the men’s the title was already Hardenbergs so the most interesting this weekend was if Arheilgen or Dormagen-Brechten should take the second place to the Europacup in Vienna besides Hardenberg.

It might have seen like a quite close game between them because SG Arheilgen won over Dormagen-Brechten with only 3 strokes. In reality it was not that close since the Dormagen-Brechten team needed to win over 6 strokes to secure the place in the EC (as long as no other team was inbetween).

Final table Bundesliga Men:

1 BGS Hardenberg Pötter 2653 54
2 SG Arheilgen 3038 36
3 MGC Dormagen-Brechten 3047 32
4 Niendorfer MC 3075 28
5 MGC Mainz 3109 16
6 Tempelhof MV 3233 14

Best individually this time among the men where Marco Balzer, Niendorfer MC, (19,5) Rainer Hess, SG Arheilgen (19,7), Achim Paulsen, Niendorfer MC (20,0) and Sven Reichhard, Tempelhofer MV Berlin (20,0).
