The Greater Baltimore Mini Golf Tour kicked off its Winter Tour on January 13, 2018 with an event at the Columbia, Maryland Monster Mini Golf. The tour will have four events, one each month through April, all played at one of two locations of the indoor, blacklight minigolf. Each event is one round long and a winner is declared both for the event and the overall tour.
The first event saw 9 participants attempting to conquer the scary holes. At the end of the day, Elmer Lawson, a USPMGA pro, sat alone at the top of the leaderboard with a 42, clearing second place by ten strokes and earning him 51 points towards the overall title. Tournament director Rob Cataldi had this to say about the event, "[I] wasn't surprised to see Elmer at the top of the leaderboard. He's a very good player. Would like to thank Elmer and Terri for making the drive down to play and thanks to everyone who came out as well. It was better than anticipated for our first winter league event."
The next event on the tour will take place on February 10 at the Towson location. You can check out the tour Facebook page for more information about their tour events. You can also follow them on Twitter or Instagram.
