Rounds 3 and 4 of the Indoor League of Western Sweden were played over the past month. Round 3 was at Borås MGK in February while round 4 was played at BGK Jönköping in March. You can catch up on the second round in our article here to see where teams stood as they went into the final rounds.
Round 3
Round 3 was played on February 4th and 5th. In division 1 Skoghall managed to keep their position at the top even though ever fighting and talented Gullbergsbro did win all of their games this weekend. Further down in the series we saw Gothenburg winning four games passing Gullbergsbro 2. It's a tight race right now between Gullbergsbro2 , Gothenburg and Askim. As far as we know Askim will bring in more of their felt specialists for the next round. Askim played all weekend without a present substitute player.
In division 2 Uddevalla passed Borås and now leads by having used ten strokes less.
Round 4
Skoghall had a two point lead when the last weekend of the indoor series of Western Sweden started on March 4th and 5th. The new and younger Gullbergsbro had second place.
Both had comfortable victories in the first round but in the second round Gullbergsbro was defeated by the "almost home" team Nässjö. Skoghall on the other hand followed up by getting defeated by Gullbergsbro 2 in the third round while Gullbergsbro 1 won against the real home team, Jönköping.
In the fourth round Gullbergsbro followed up by taking a very comfortable 37 stroke win against their second team. Skoghall on the other hand had a small but still convincing victory by 7 strokes over Kungälv.
Nässjö seemingly liked to beat those top teams and in the next round it was Skoghalls turn to get fall while Gullbergsbro won over Askim.
Gullbergsbro once again won and they were now ready for the last game which would be decisive. Skoghall had a tie against Jönköping in a very good game so they would have one point in advance before the final round. The best game so far had been between the two home teams Jönköping and Nässjö in the first round where Jönköping won by 136-139 .
The final game would decide who would be the winning team. Both teams played good but let's just say that Skoghall played world class minigolf. With an amazing 126 strokes (best team score of the weekend, 10(!) better than Jönköping) Skoghall crushed all dreams that Gullbergsbro had of a victory. Once again Skoghall won the series also showing that they have a lot of young talented players.
Kungälv took the third place after not having a very good weekend in Jönköping. Jönköping took the fourth place. The four last teams had quite a dramatic fight about their places as Nässjö went from last place to fifth place and got 20 points just as Gullbergsbro 2 and Göteborg also had. Askim, the leader after first MOS round, ended up in the last place with 19 points.
In the second division Tuve BKG and Borås MKG played very good with 8 points each. This gave Borås the first place, with Uddevalla BGK taking second and Hårdton IK wrapping up the podium in third. Tuve would finish fourth overall.
